Cosette's newest hairstyle . . .

Cosette and I have decided to let her bangs grow out. It will be a long and sometimes painful journey for both of us! Wish us luck! :)

Look Mom, Warm Hands!

Yesterday AJ came into my room with a swim diaper on his head. I don't know why but there he was walking around with his newest hat. A few seconds later, I heard him say, "My hands are cold." Being the resourceful 2-1/2 year old that he is, he stuck his hands in the holes of his hat. I'm so proud of my resourceful kids!

From the Lost Files of Clever Conversations . . .

While Gregg and Cosette were driving one day, Cosette started commenting on the lights and controls inside the ceiling of the Suburban, saying they looked like a robot. The conversation then continued something like this:
C: "Speaking of which, why do cars have wheels?"
G: "What would they have if they didn't have wheels?"
C: "Slides"
G: "Wheels probably go faster."
C: "Oh . . . speaking of another which, why don't snakes have arms or legs?"

Warm and Fuzzy

Uncle Dewey bought this bunny towel for Grace when she was about 4 years old. Cosette has been using it since she was about 3 years old. Now AJ discovered it in the hall closet and it's his turn . . . he loves it! He runs around the house in it giggling and saying "it's warm and fuzzy!"

Inauguration Day 2009

When Dwight woke up this morning, I reminded him that today was the day that George Bush would leave his office as President of the United States and that Barrack Obama would become our new 44th President of the United States. Dwight's reaction: "WHAT? He's becoming President while dad is out of town????"

Thin Ice

Cosette was acting out yesterday while we were at Costco. She was given chance after chance to change her bad behavior. Her chances ran out when she shoved AJ off the back seat of the Suburban so hard that he fell onto the floor and injured himself. I explained to her that when we got home she would be punished. The entire ride home consisted of Cosette crying and screaming, "MOM, please, can I be on thin ice? Why can't I be on thin ice?" Guess I use that phrase WAY too often in this household.

Some Enchanted Evening . . .

This week Grace participated in try-outs for South Pacific at West High School. On Monday, she tried out for singing and on Tuesday for acting. According to Grace, lots of kids were trying out especially upperclassmen. Today she read the cast list-she will be in the chorus as a nurse. To her surprise and ours, Garrison will also be in the chorus as a soldier. Gregg and I are really excited and proud of both of them. It's great to see one of your kids on stage performing so how much better will it be this March to see two of our kids on stage performing? We can't wait!

No School

AJ and I have been trying to work on his potty training. It's not going so well. One minute he seems to want to do it and the next minute he doesn't. I decided to walk him into Miss Rosanne's preschool room yesterday to look around. I bent down and said to him, "AJ you could go to school here someday if you learn to use the bathroom. " He looked at me and very loudly declared, "I don't want to go to school. I don't want to learn ANYTHING! NEVER!" (Anything and never are two of his favorite words.) Well, I thought it was a great idea at the time . . . .

Caffeine please?

Garrison isn't allowed to drink caffeinated beverages because it really seems to affect his autism in a negative manner. Everyone in our household knows this and everyone constantly heard Garrison ask me on our last trip, "Can I have caffeine or no caffeine?"AJ picked up on it this too because this is the conversation he had with Gregg last weekend.
Can I have caffeine?
No, AJ, mom is bringing you some yummy root beer.
I don't want root beer. I want Serious Mist (Sierra Mist).

The Kangaroos go for a spin . . .

We bought AJ a Little People Race Car Track for Christmas. He loves to play with it. When the cars go around and around, he really thinks there's nothing better. He also got a Little People Noah's Ark play set from his Mimi for Christmas. Yesterday he decided that the animals in the ark needed a break from the boat-take a look:

Christmas in Missouri . . .

The picture is a little blurry but Cosette, Dwight and Grace are posing by Montana at the Missouri History Museum (which is free to the public by the way!)

Yes, there will be a lot of pictures of Noah Walter Meyr (Dwight and Diane's baby boy) because he is just too cute and snuggly!

Cosette is modeling the new scarf and hat that Grandma Meyr made her for Christmas.

Joshua (Darrin and Stacy's boy) posing for the camera.

Dwight is enjoying the playground in Forest Park.

AJ climbed this rock wall to the top by himself and it was a good thing I wasn't around the first time he did it or he probably would have never accomplished such a feat!

Charles Lindbergh's airplane-The Spirit of St. Louis

Cosette loved the HUGE wreath hanging on the outside of the museum.

Home Sweet Home

Blogging came to a complete stop while we spent Christmas in Cape Girardeau, MO with my parents. We really had a good time catching up with all my brothers and sister-in-laws. It's sad to leave my family but nice to be back in Montana too!

When we walked into our house late Sunday night, Dwight said "Home Sweet Home!" and then he immediately ran upstairs to his bedroom and yelled down to me, "Mom, I forgot how beautiful my carpet is!"

Life is good! More pictures and posts to follow . . .
