Happy 21st Birthday Garrison

Garrison requested a bowling cake. This was the best I could do. I'm not Martha Stewart. :)
Happy Birthday Garrison. We are so proud of you and love you very much.

Graduation Day

Grace singing as a Meistersinger for the last time. (Hard to see but she's on the end in front of the young lady wearing a black/white dress.)
We are proud parents. (This is also where I once again realize I am so stinkin short. I'm often in denial. )
Grace with Grandma and Grandpa Meyr. We are so thankful they travelled from Cape Girardeau, Missouri to share in Grace's special day.
Grace and her Grammie. I adore this picture.
Grace and her siblings (Gabriel In Absentia).
Two best friends
Grace & Abbey
After a long day, it's time for cake.
Congrats Grace! We are so proud of you and love you very much.

Next stop, high school diploma!

It's been a busy week in our house. We're preparing for Grace's high school graduation on Sunday. (Sniff, Sniff )  But before Grace takes that walk across the stage to receive her diploma we have had the pleasure of attending her Art Show and POPS Concert. Here are a few highlights from both:
 Grace's Self-Portrait
This was one of the last paintings she painted for her Art Show. She makes painting look so easy.
Grace painted these Converse shoes for her favorite English teacher, Mr. McCartney.
Grace's last performance as a Meistersinger.
Grace sang a solo at the POPS Concert and played the piano (This was the girl who once told me she hated going to piano lessons. :) ) She chose the song * Why I'm Home. It fit her perfectly. Several people asked her if she wrote it herself.

Grace, we are beyond proud of you. Next stop, high school diploma.

*My camera was not cooperating so I didn't get a recording of her actually singing the song. Personally, her version was much softer and prettier than the you tube video. But then again, I'm slightly biased. :)

AJ and his shots

Today AJ & I went to see our pediatrician for his Kindergarten check-up. He's been anticipating it for weeks. I've never seen a little boy more excited to get a shot. He was practically going up to strangers telling them all about it. "I'm getting a shot today. Then I get to go to Kindergarten."
It turned out he was given 3 shots. He took it like a man. He didn't flinch. He didn't cry. He was very brave. I, on the other hand, was not. I was teary, even a little sad. OK Kindergarten, there's no going back now.

On a side note, AJ said I needed to text his Mimi right away. "You have to text Mimi and tell her about my shots and how I didn't cry. I know she's very worried about me right now." :)

Little Bighorn Battlefield

This past Monday  Mount Olive Classical Lutheran School (our school) met Martin Luther Grammar School at Little Bighorn Battlefield for a field trip. I've been here several times and I'm always amazed at how eery, yet beautiful the landscape looks around this monument.
History, right before our eyes.
