Butter

Dwight doesn't like butter. He won't eat it on toast or pancakes or waffles. I forgot to NOT butter his waffles this morning at breakfast. If you know my kids, then you can almost predict what happened next.

Dwight: "Mom, don't you know that butter is my archenemy? I can't take it. Please, I'll eat anything before I eat butter."

Cosette: "Well, would you eat cockroaches or butter?"

Dwight: "Bugs are as bad as butter Cosette, but I still would pick bugs."

Seriously, I've officially lost my appetite.

The Grill and the Grill Master

This is our old grill. It served us well for many years but now it's tired and burnt-out.

Gregg is preparing to cut some granite. That's right. He knows how to cut granite. Maybe I'm the only one impressed by this. No, it's not granite for our future kitchen. But it is granite and it's beautiful.

Behold, the cut granite

to be placed on top of the cabinet (that Gregg also made)

for our new and improved grill. Gregg got this grill for a bargain from Gensco. It's ginormous. It's shiny. It runs on natural gas. The knobs light up. It's awesome.

More pictures to come when the grill and cabinet are completely finished.

Day Two of Summer Vacation...

While taking a short trip to Wal-Mart with the 3 little ones, AJ pointed to two men walking past us and LOUDLY YELLED, "Hey mom! Look! Two black guys!" I. Was. Mortified.

Day One of Summer Vacation...

I tell the kids about our daily "no school" routine. We'll take time to read and work on Math facts daily, cook, clean, crafts, you know the usual stuff AND play outside. Dwight's response, "What? Are you trying to ruin my entire summer vacation? Why would you make us play outside?"

Oh boy...

Chef AJ

My Personal Chef

Note the lovely architectural design of my table.

AJ's menu-"It's everything healthy mom. Just like you like it." AJ's a good son. He gave me chocolate (on the left) for dessert. :)
