I feel guilty

I haven't been blogging lately. I'm sure I have plenty to say, but I seem to lack the time to sit down and say (type) it. And, I have trouble getting pictures off my iPhone. I'm a little iPhone challenged it seems. I know, excuses, excuses . . .

So, here is my Top Ten Hein Happenings past, present and future (in no particular order of importance):

10) I made homemade Cinnamon Rolls for Easter morning breakfast. (I know for most of you this isn't big deal news, but for me it's HUGE! HUGE!!!!)

9) Cosette informed me tonight that she wants to work at a cemetery. What???? Oh, I mean be a mortician. What???? Either way, I need to talk to Cosette about her options career-wise.

8) AJ makes me laugh regularly. Is it because he is the baby of the family or do I truly think he is funny? That is the question.

7) Dwight just finished the 5th Harry Potter book in 1 week. When he READS something he loves, he hardly comes up for air. I find myself saying things like, "Dwight put the book down and go play with AJ."

6) Grace had a choir concert this past Saturday evening at St. Patrick's. St. Patrick's is a gorgeous Catholic church with gorgeous acoustics. The choir sounded amazing. I loved every minute of it.

5) Garrison has been bowling with the Special Olympics. A few weeks ago, he scored a 145. I am very proud of him. His highest score ever!

4) Gregg has been keeping busy with work (as usual). He flies to Reno, NV tomorrow morning. Here's to hoping he strikes it rich playing Black Jack. :)

3) There are 28 days left until summer vacation officially begins, but who's counting?

2) I agreed to teach Kindergarten full-time at our little classical Lutheran school this fall. Please pray for me. I'll be with Kindergartners 7 hours a day. (We just decided to lengthen our school day. Yay!) What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

1) We're heading to St. Louis this summer to visit my family (Gregg is a lay delegate at the LCMS Convention). I'm beyond excited. Ted Drewes, Toasted Ravioli, The Muny?

Good Friday

Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted
--LSB 451

1 Stricken, smitten, and afflicted,
See Him dying on the tree!
'Tis the Christ by man rejected;
Yes, my soul, 'tis He, 'tis He!
'Tis the long-expected Prophet,
David's Son, yet David's Lord;
Proofs I see sufficient of it:
'Tis the true and faithful Word.

2 Tell me, ye who hear Him groaning,
Was there ever grief like His?
Friends through fear His cause disowning,
Foes insulting His distress;
Many hands were raised to wound Him,
None would intervene to save;
But the deepest stroke that pierced Him
Was the stroke that justice gave.

3 Ye who think of sin but lightly
Nor suppose the evil great
Here may view its nature rightly,
Here its guilt may estimate.
Mark the sacrifice appointed,
See who bears the awful load;
'Tis the Word, the Lord's anointed,
Son of Man and Son of God.

4 Here we have a firm foundation;
Here the refuge of the lost;
Christ, the Rock of our salvation,
His the name of which we boast.
Lamb of God, for sinners wounded,
Sacrifice to cancel guilt!
None shall ever be confounded
Who on Him their hope have built.
