"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Garrison's last IEP (Individualized Education Program) meeting was yesterday. It made me a little teary, I'll admit. His graduation from West High School (his home for the last 5 years) will be Sunday, May 30th-one day before his 20th birthday and to quote Garrison "We'll have a BIG celebration with bacon cheeseburgers!" (He really is all about the food. A man after my own heart.) I really can't even put into words how thankful I am to all the teachers that have loved and taken care of Garrison like he was their very own. Each and every teacher, guidance counselor and principal went out of their way to make sure Garrison's needs were met and then some. I'm forever grateful. Special Education teachers ROCK!

Yay, Garrison! What a marvelous accomplishment!
Is Garrison going to be sad? I know how much he enjoys getting out. Thankfully you'll still have him around and he's not going anywhere. :)
