Day 3 of Camp Mimi African Safari

We finished a house for Masai family by smearing cow dung (wallpaper paste, straw and potting soil) on the framework of sticks. We learned that dung beetles do good work.
We are giving polite answers in Kiswahili language.
Even though the equator at this point in Kenya is 6,000 feet above sea level, it can get hot. We lunched in a shaded indoor spot. They served a choice of dik dik or wildebeest meat sandwiches, pita chips with hummus and grapes.
Icy cold "Monkey Lover" milkshakes (guess what's in it?) chilled us nicely.

So far, of the Big Five we've seen Elephants, Rhinos--both Black Rhino and White Rhino--Lions, and today, Leopards. One more to go!
The late afternoon game drive in the Land Rover took us south across the equator. We drove through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru. Tracker Mimi visited there before. She told us about the clicking noise that the millions of flamingos make and we could hear it. Their diet is small pink shrimp, and that turns their feathers pink.
People always pose for pictures to prove they crossed it, so we did too.

Our Safari is already half over!
