Last Day of African Safari
The study session started with a fable about Lake Nakuru and Mingo, a baby flamingo who couldn't fly.
Mimi taught us a way to create a beautiful African scene by blending an animal photo into our own painting.
(The results are spectacular, says Mimi)
We lunched in a quaint patio cafe with an interesting--all organic--menu: Large, fat red-eyed tree snails, sesame toasted termites and chocolate covered ant.
There were some edible flowers, and we liked them. They are lemony. We had seconds and thirds.
Cosette was the only camper who liked the termites.
Mimi took us to an ATM where we got
Kenya Shillings (KSH) so we could buy things in the village of Nanyuki.
It was a long walk
through the Bush.
At "Rafiki's Trading Post" we saw lots of beautiful things to buy.
But they don't just scan them and say "Haveaniceday," like in America.
They say a high price and then you have to try to get it for less.
They tease you and try to get more money.
We bought lots and learned that bargaining is fun.
