Dwight has informed me tonight that he hates writing in cursive. That's great for both of us considering that is how he is to complete all his assignments this school year. He has a reason for hating cursive. He told me so OVER and OVER. Here's what I heard tonight as we trudged through homework. Somebody please come and rescue me ASAP.
"I don't like to write in cursive. I can't write neatly in cursive. You telling me to write neatly in cursive is an oxymoron. It can't be done. Cursive just looks sloppy no matter how much I take my time. Even when I take my time, it's sloppy so why am I forced to write in this manner? There is nothing neat about cursive. Cursive is going to ruin my school year. I wish I could run away and not have school at all. Cursive isn't going to get me anywhere in life."

Oh, Dwight. Hang in there. When school's over you print letters to your hearts content. In the meantime, for both your sakes, I hope he can make it through. :)
And I love how dramatic something like cursive makes him.
I think boys shouldn't have to take cursive, just girls. Feel free to let Dwight know I've got his back on this one.
