Luther On Tap, Jr

Every Tuesday night Gregg and a half dozen other confessional Lutherans disappear into a billow of cigar smoke and the aroma of locally brewed hops and barley in what is otherwise our garage. This is Luther on Tap.

Several weeks ago, Gregg and I decided to start Luther on Tap, Jr. (minus the cigars and beer) for Dwight, Cosette and AJ. We began in the beginning. Even though Cain and Abel were featured tonight, the questioners didn't necessarily stick to the topic. For example:

AJ: What did Cain use to kill Abel and did Cain go to heaven?

Cosette: How did Lamech have more than one wife?

Dwight: Who taught Adam how to speak?

Gregg tries to answer all the questions. Although, Dwight sometimes poses the most challenge. And sometimes the answers stray as well.

Here's another example:
Dwight: Who was smarter, Adam or Eve?
Gregg: They were both stunningly brilliant.
Dwight: But wasn't Adam smarter because he was first?
Gregg: It's not about who was first. It's how they were created. How was Adam created?
D: God formed him out of the ground and breathed the breath of life into him.
G: Eve was formed out of the rib taken from Adam but likewise had the breath of life breathed into her. Both came alive straight from the mouth of God.
D: Wasn't the rib smaller than the dirt God used?
G: Well, how much dirt did God use?
D: A handful, but God has big hands.
G: God could have formed man out of dust the size of Horton's speck because God creates with His word and with His word He can call into being things that are not.He creates ex nihilo. God creates from nothing. Unlike you, you start with Legos or Cosette creates by painting or AJ, creates with what?
Cosette supplied: Bubble Gum.

We're all going to chew on that for awhile. Until next week...
